If you live or own property in the Town and Country Public Library District you are entitled to a library card. Residents or renters can be verified on the Kane County Treasurer’s website: http://kaneapplications.countyofkane.org/taxassessor
A resident may apply for a borrower’s card upon reaching the age of 5 (five) years.
The signature of a parent, guardian, or other legally responsible person is required for all persons under the age of 18 years. Library cards are issued for 2 (two) years.
To obtain a Library Card, bring proof of identity and proof of residency to the Library.
- Photo ID: driver’s license, state ID, military ID, or U.S. passport
- Proof of Residency: current utility bill, real estate tax bill, rental agreement or lease, current credit card bill, or other legal document showing your name and current address
Lost or stolen cards must be reported to the Circulation Department as soon as possible. A $5.00 fee is charged for replacement of a card.

Library cards may be renewed at the desk. There is no charge to renew your Library card. You will need the large portion of your card showing name and expiration date. Please provide proof of identity. Proof of residency may be required if you have moved.
